Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla owner or just deep into the EV world like me, you've got to hear this latest news. Apple is reportedly planning to introduce ads into Apple Maps. Yeah, you read that right. And this could show up not just in the Maps app on your iPhone, but potentially in the Phone app and even CarPlay.
Shoutout to Koshi for breaking this story first. Imagine cruising down the highway with CarPlay, and suddenly your navigation is interrupted by ads for nearby restaurants or services. Businesses bidding for prime spots in your directions? It's going to get cluttered fast.
Now, compare that to Tesla's navigation system. I can't picture Elon and the Tesla team plastering ads all over their clean, minimalist UI. Sure, maybe a subtle promo for a Tesla Service Center or a "Test Drive Nearby" nudge—but nothing like third-party spam. Tesla Nav is getting better with steady improvements, and it just feels premium without the commercial noise.
CarPlay owners, what do you think? Are you sticking with it if ads roll out, or is it time to make the switch to Tesla Nav? Drop your thoughts in the comments below—I'd love to hear from you!
