Optimizing Your Cybertruck: My MOLLE Panel Setup and Must-Have Accessories
Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've just picked up your Tesla Cybertruck, you're probably overwhelmed by the sea of accessories and MOLLE panels available. It's exciting, but figuring out what's worth your money can be a real puzzle. In this post, I'll walk you through my current setup on our second Cybertruck, share why I chose certain items, and highlight some alternatives that save cash without sacrificing quality. I've been tinkering with these attachments to maximize storage and utility, and I'll even tease a couple of upcoming additions. If you've got your own recommendations, drop them in the comments below—I'd love to hear what works for you!
Why MOLLE Panels Are a Game-Changer for Cybertruck Owners
One of the coolest features of the Cybertruck is its massive storage potential, and the MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) panels take it to the next level. These panels let you customize your truck bed with all sorts of attachments, turning it into a highly organized utility beast. Whether you're hauling gear for work, adventures, or everyday errands, they make a huge difference. I've experimented with both OEM and third-party options, and I'll break down what I've found most useful.
My Current MOLLE Panel Setup
Let's dive into what I've got installed right now. I've focused on practicality, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness. Note: I'll link to the products I mention in the description of my video, but here's the rundown:
The Divider Panel
- What I Use: A non-OEM divider (link in video description).
- Why Not OEM? I previously tried the official Tesla one, but it doesn't play nice with aftermarket trunk mats. Speaking of which...
- Paired with the Best Trunk Mat: I swear by the 3W Liner mat. It fits perfectly, matches the Cybertruck's lines, and has a premium rubberized material that's durable and easy to clean. The OEM divider only works with the stock floorboard, so I went with a modified third-party version that's raised on one side for a seamless fit.
Side MOLLE Panels
- What I Use: Non-OEM panels from Honcho (super affordable—link below).
- Attachments and Utility:
- Umbrella strap: Essential for my wife to stay protected from UV rays during those sunny drives.
- Basic straps and clips: Great for securing smaller items.
- Leaf blower: Strapped in for quick vehicle washes on the go.
- Extra light: Perfect for visibility when it gets dark.
These side panels are a budget-friendly alternative to Tesla's versions, and they've held up great so far. I've got tons of stuff thrown in the bed daily, so organization is key— these help keep chaos at bay.
Upcoming Accessories I'm Excited About
I'm always iterating on my setup, and there are a couple more pieces in the works:
- Mystery MOLLE Attachment: I've got one more on the way that I can't wait to test. Stay tuned for a follow-up video to see if it's a hit or a miss!
- Table-Style MOLLE Panel: I have this at home but haven't installed it yet. It seems like it might get in the way more than help, especially with frequent loading and unloading. I'll update once I give it a proper try.
Figuring out the perfect organization has been a fun battle— the Cybertruck's bed is so versatile, but it requires some trial and error.
Tips for Choosing Your Own Accessories
- Prioritize Compatibility: If you're adding mats or liners, double-check that your MOLLE panels work with them.
- Go Third-Party to Save: Brands like Honcho offer quality at a fraction of the OEM price.
- Focus on Utility: Think about your daily needs—do you need straps for tools, lights for nighttime, or holders for specific gear?
