We've got an official spotting of the Tesla Model Y L – the six-seater with the third row – right here in the USA! Big shoutout to Michael for catching this gem on I-280 northbound in the Bay Area. This is classic Tesla testing territory, and it's got us all buzzing about when this bad boy will hit US roads.

The vehicle was fully camouflaged, which is Tesla's signature move during pre-launch testing. We've seen this playbook before:
This Bay Area sighting screams "imminent US launch." Tesla loves testing in California before going nationwide – expect more in Texas soon.
My guess? Q3 or Q4 2024, but it could stretch into early 2025. Remember the Model Y Performance? Spotted similarly last year and delivered in Nov/Dec. Patience is key with Tesla's ramps.

The EV space is on fire:
The Model Y L needs to contend as a family-friendly third-row SUV. Can't wait to see it in person!
On yesterday's call, Tesla dropped this bombshell (shoutout Nick for the quote):
"We have evolved our vehicle sales strategy where we now emphasize full self-driving as a product and the vehicle as only a delivery mechanism. Welcome to the new era of Tesla."
Intriguing, but don't sleep on hardware! Families crave big SUVs, third rows, and a true Model X rival.
Kyle from Out of Spec tested the China-spec Model Y L. It's spacious upfront, but the third row?

What do you think? Ideal family hauler or niche player?
