Another Tesla Model Y L spotted with heavy Model Y L camouflage spy shots just popped up in Florida, far from the usual California test routes. California plates on a vehicle draped in extra camo, tinted windows, and disguised wheels tell me the Model Y L US arrival is getting closer than ever.
These new sightings follow the classic Tesla pattern. Prototypes get spotted more often, then orders open. Last year the Model Y Performance launched on September 30, so a Model Y L September release this year feels plausible, especially with tax-credit timing in play. Deliveries could follow by December or early next year.
I broke down the earlier Fremont testing and expected specs over at https://denniscw.com/blog/model-y-l-release-date-fremont-testing. The Florida camo shots add fresh confirmation that the longer-wheelbase version is headed stateside.
For current owners, this means a bigger, more practical Model Y option is finally coming. If you want to upgrade and need to sell your current Tesla first, Plug Motors — get an instant offer to sell your Tesla or EV offers some of the strongest payouts I’ve seen, often thousands above other buyers, with a quote in minutes.
More details on pricing and expected US specs are in my latest update here: https://denniscw.com/blog/model-y-l-spotted-us-release-price-updates.
Bottom line: the Model Y L release date is no longer a rumor. These Florida shots show Tesla is serious about bringing it here, and a fall announcement window looks very likely.
