Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're like me and eagerly awaiting your Tesla Model Y Performance, you've probably noticed the radio silence on deliveries. No one has taken delivery yet, despite confirmed dates popping up in the app. I've been stalking every lot and update I can find, and today I'm breaking down what's happening, sharing my personal update, and giving you my best guess on timelines.

The Delay: A Safety Equipment Hold

Tesla has put a hold on Model Y Performance deliveries across the US due to a safety equipment check. According to reports from Tesla Drive Tesla Canada, vehicles are arriving at delivery centers, but they're not cleared for pickup yet.

Here's the key message Tesla is sending affected owners:

"Your car has arrived, but there's a hold on it to ensure that some safety equipment was installed correctly at the factory. Once that part arrives and the service is completed, your Tesla app will notify you when it's ready to schedule pickup."

We've also seen cases where orders were even canceled and reassigned to new VINs. Tons of VINs were assigned just last night, so if that's you, drop your estimated delivery date in the comments!

Past experiences don't inspire full confidence either—people have shown up on their scheduled delivery day only to be turned away because staff weren't aware of required fixes.

Production is Ramping Up at Giga Factory
