Quick Carbon Fiber Mirror Upgrade for Tesla Cybertruck
Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're looking to add a sleek, premium touch to your Tesla Cybertruck, carbon fiber accents are a fantastic way to go. Today, I'm installing these carbon fiber mirror covers from EVBase – a super simple mod that I actually had on my previous Cybertruck. It was stuck on so well that I couldn't remove it without risking damage! These are matte finish (my preference over gloss), low-cost, and use high-quality 3M adhesive for a secure fit.
EVBase has tons of Tesla accessories, and they've hooked us up with this kit. Check the links below for purchase details and my exclusive EVBase promo code to save some cash.
Unboxing the Kit
The package arrives neatly boxed with everything you need:
- Pre-cut carbon fiber covers for driver and passenger mirrors.
- Extra 3M tape (perfect for other projects!).
- Adhesion promoter (smells like alcohol – great for cleaning).
Pro tip: Inspect the covers upon arrival. I noticed a tiny factory blemish or thumbprint on one, but these will take some inevitable dings over time anyway.
Prep Work: Clean Those Mirrors
Before applying:
- Thoroughly clean the mirrors to remove any dirt, oils, or residue. (I used the included adhesion promoter since I forgot my wipes – it works like a charm!)
- Wipe down with the promoter for maximum stick.
This step covers up any existing blemishes on your mirrors too – mine had a small mark, possibly from a garage scrape.
Super Easy Installation Steps
This is a 10-minute job – no tools required beyond maybe tweezers for peeling protectors.
- Test Fit: Dry-fit the covers. Line up from the top and press down. They snap perfectly onto the mirror edges.
- Peel Protectors: Carefully remove all the red backing pieces from the 3M tape. Press the tape onto the carbon fiber first to activate adhesion on both sides.
- Apply Promoter: Swipe the adhesion promoter over the mirror surface.
- Install: Align precisely on the inner edge, then firmly press down from the top. The sides clip in securely, and the 3M tape locks it in place.
- Press & Cure: Give it extra pressure, especially on edges. Let it set – it's not going anywhere!
Watch how it hugs the contours perfectly. Shoutout to the side clips – double security!
Final Thoughts
This mod instantly elevates your Cybertruck's aggressive look with that matte carbon fiber vibe. It's reversible (though good luck removing it like I did last time), affordable, and beginner-friendly.
