Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla owner with an iPhone, I've got some exciting news that might just change how you interact with your car's infotainment system. Rumors are swirling that Apple CarPlay is coming to Tesla, and we've got leaked screenshots to back it up. Let's dive into everything we know so far about this potential game-changer.
The buzz started with a leaked screenshot from the Chinese market, showing what looks like a seamless integration of Apple CarPlay into Tesla's native UI. On the right side of the screen, you can spot familiar Apple CarPlay-style layouts and widgets, blending right in with Tesla's design.
A post from the Not a Tesla App captured it perfectly: "First look at what's potentially integrated Apple CarPlay? Driver side maintains vehicle control and FSD UI. Other side is CarPlay with deeper app integration."
Imagine this: Tesla controls on one side, CarPlay on the other – harmony at last?
We've seen CarPlay mods before, like HDMI plug-ins that required some DIY hacking. But this feels different. It appears Tesla has been holding off on a full rollout to better integrate Full Self-Driving (FSD) and core vehicle controls alongside CarPlay. They're even leveraging advanced features from iOS (rumored to be iOS 16+ functions).
If all goes well, we could see this drop later this year. Fingers crossed!
Full disclosure: I don't rely on Apple CarPlay in my daily drive. Tesla's UI is slick, intuitive, and packed with everything I need. But this integration? It could be huge.
Think about it:
I'd definitely give it a spin and see how it feels. Many of you might do the same – at least to test the waters.
