Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been following the Cybertruck drama, you know about the PCS (Power Conversion System) failure that's been grounding some owners. It was preventing Level 2 charging at home and sparking recall talks. But guess what? Tesla just dropped an official update that's a game-changer.
The PCS issue was a real headache—no AC and no home charging. Tesla heard the complaints loud and clear. They're rolling out a firmware update to all affected Cybertrucks that:
Even better? Tesla is covering supercharging costs for all affected owners until the parts fix arrives (expected around May, but they're working on it aggressively). This should go live in the next day or so.
Cybertruck at a Supercharger—now free for those in need!
This is peak Tesla vertical integration. If you can't charge at home for months, just hit the Superchargers on Tesla's dime. Sure, the Cybertruck takes a bit longer to charge there compared to other EVs, but it's a solid workaround that keeps owners mobile.
I've got two Cybertrucks now (knock on wood, no major issues with the second one), and I love how comfortable they are, packed with the latest tech. But as an early adopter vehicle, growing pains are real. Tesla stepping up like this? That's why we stick with them.
