Unlock Tesla Deals with Option Credits & More!
Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Welcome back to another exciting update on Tesla deal hacking. In today’s blog post, I’m diving into a hot topic straight from my latest video—Tesla Option Credits—and how you can potentially score big savings if you’re in the right scenario. Plus, I’ll cover other Tesla news, insider tips, and some fantastic partner offers to help you protect and accessorize your Tesla. Let’s get started!
What Are Tesla Option Credits?
First up, let’s talk about the exciting return of Option Credits for Tesla inventory vehicles. If you’ve got a pending order or delivery and are looking to switch to an inventory vehicle (especially by the end of the month or quarter), Tesla might just sweeten the deal for you. This isn’t a new offer—it pops up periodically, often around the end of a quarter like June 30th, to push inventory sales.
Here’s how it works: Tesla may waive certain option costs to encourage you to switch to an inventory vehicle. For example, if your original order is for a base Model Y in Stealth Gray, but you find a white or red one in inventory that’s $1,000 to $1,500 more expensive due to paint or other upgrades (like wheels, tow hitch, or interior color), Tesla could offer an Option Credit to cover that difference. The max credit I’ve seen is typically between $1,000 and $2,000.
Shout out to Maxwell from our super-secret Discord group (join via the link below!) who recently pulled off an incredible deal. He switched to a Model Y with Pearl White Paint and scored a $1,000 Option Credit, alongside other incentives like $500 Loyalty Credit and $1,000 America’s Heroes discount, totaling $2,500 in sales incentives. His final price for a Model Y Rear Wheel Drive? A jaw-dropping $21,990 after stacking additional state and federal incentives, plus a referral bonus from December. Oh, and he locked in 1.99% financing too!
Pro Tip: If you’ve got a pending delivery and spot an inventory vehicle that catches your eye (or offers a quicker delivery), reach out to a Tesla sales rep. Better yet, call or visit your local Tesla store to see if they can make the switch happen. Your mileage may vary (YMMV), but it’s worth a shot!
How to Maximize Tesla Deals
Maxwell’s deal wasn’t just about the Option Credit—it was a masterclass in stacking incentives. Here’s a breakdown of what contributed to his massive discount:
- $1,000 Option Credit for switching to a different paint color.
- $1,000 America’s Heroes Discount (check if you qualify!).
- $500 Loyalty Credit for returning Tesla customers.
- $4,000 Charge Up Incentive (specific to New Jersey).
- $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (more on potential changes to this below).
- $10,000 Referral Bonus from referring 10 people in December.

Protect Your Tesla Inside and Out
Switching gears, let’s talk about protecting your Tesla. I recently saw a video of someone testing white Tesla seats by spilling white wine on them. While the seats are pretty durable (we use baby wipes to clean ours), I wouldn’t recommend this test on ventilated seats due to the perforated holes. Instead, consider a ceramic coating for both the interior and exterior. I highly recommend Gyeon for DIY applications, or if you’re in Southern California, hit up my friend Andre at 24K Shine (mobile service!) for ceramic coating and paint protection. Mention the “Dennis Deal” for a special hookup!
Speaking of protection, your online data needs safeguarding too, especially with recent breaches like Bank of America’s delayed reporting. That’s why I use Aura, today’s sponsor. Aura scans the dark web for your personal info, reduces spam calls, removes your data from sketchy broker sites, and offers up to $5 million in identity theft insurance—all in one app. Try it free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw (link below). Protect your credit before financing your Tesla—it’s a must!
Tesla News & Rumors
Let’s touch on some hot Tesla topics from the live stream comments:
- Model Y Longer Wheelbase Rumors: Could a 6-7 seater Model Y with a larger 95 kWh battery pack for extended range be on the horizon? It makes sense with the added weight and space. I’d love to see it!
- July/August Deals: We might see incentives in August (second month of the quarter) rather than July, potentially for older Model S and X inventory as the refreshed versions roll out.
- Model 3 Refresh Speculation: No solid news yet, but I’ll keep you posted.
- Federal Tax Credit Changes: Bad news on the horizon—a Senate bill could end the $7,500 new EV tax credit 180 days after signing (around December), immediately end the leasing loophole for non-US-built EVs (like Kia and Hyundai), and phase out the $4,000 used EV credit in 90 days. Stay tuned for updates, as this could impact demand and deals.

Thanks to everyone who joined the live stream and dropped comments! Here are a couple of highlights:
- Full Self-Driving (FSD) Trust Issues: Some viewers, like Antonio, shared that their spouses don’t trust FSD. I’m curious—what percentage of Tesla owners actually use Autopilot or FSD? Let me know in the comments!
- Insurance Costs: Tesla insurance can be pricey ($150-$250/month on average). Check out Costco Connect (if available in your state) or Tesla Insurance for potential savings. One viewer saved $100/month thanks to my Costco tip!
