Tesla's New Frost Blue Color Hits Model 3 and Y Performance – Stunning Upgrade or Must-Have?
Hey everyone, DennisCW here! We've got some exciting news from Tesla: the introduction of Frost Blue as a new color option for the Model 3 and Model Y. This isn't entirely new— it was previously available on the S and X (RIP to those models)—but now it's making its way to the refreshed 3 and Y lineup. Maybe Tesla had some extra paint lying around? Either way, it's a welcome addition!
What is Frost Blue and Why It's Cool
Frost Blue is a sleek, metallic blue that's reminiscent of the Raptor color on other vehicles. I've seen it up close on a Model X, and let me tell you, it looks incredible, especially with a stealth PPF (paint protection film) wrap. It gets that glossy, premium vibe that turns heads.
In person, Frost Blue appears much darker than Tesla's marketing photos suggest. Those bright daylight shots make it pop, but real-world lighting gives it a sophisticated depth. If you're into customization, pair it with stealth PPF for next-level aesthetics.

Quick Look at Frost Blue
We've got footage on the channel—check it out here. It shifts beautifully in different lights, and with PPF, it's a showstopper.

I kinda wish I'd grabbed a Model S or X Plaid in this color, but hindsight is 20/20. These might depreciate nicely in the future!
Other Tesla News: Rear Camera Recall
Tesla issued another OTA (over-the-air) recall for Model 3 and Y owners: a fix for the rear camera not activating quickly enough. I've experienced this glitch myself—annoying, but Tesla's software magic sorts it out seamlessly. No shop visit needed; just install the update.
