Tesla Model Y financing rates just climbed to 1.49 percent, still the best rate Tesla is offering right now.
The update hits at the start of the month and shows rates have risen from the 0.99 percent we saw earlier. Model 3 financing rates now sit at 1.99 percent while the Performance version of the Model Y carries 3.99 percent. The Model Y L financing rates are the real outlier at 5.59 percent, making that Launch Series a tough buy unless you are paying cash or putting down a large down payment.
Why the rates moved
Tesla usually tweaks these numbers at the beginning of each month. The jump from 0.99 to 1.49 percent on the standard Model Y lines up with softening demand on certain trims. Inventory numbers are starting to tick upward, which often signals that better deals could appear by the end of the quarter.
Lease deals versus financing
Model Y lease deals September 2026 are not competitive right now, running between 4 and 5 percent APR. That makes the 1.49 percent financing rate the clear winner if you plan to keep the car. Model 3 lease offers look better in comparison, landing between 1.66 and 3 percent, so the two cars trade places depending on whether you finance or lease.
What this means for buyers
If you are shopping a Model Y right now, the 1.49 percent rate is still attractive compared with most bank loans. Waiting for the end of the quarter could bring lower rates or extra incentives once inventory builds further. For the latest numbers I track every month, check my post on how Tesla Model Y financing rate rises to 1.49.
The Tesla incentives 2026 update also shows no special offers on the Model Y Long Range at the moment, so new buyers may want to compare the standard range models first.
Bottom line
Lock in the 1.49 percent Tesla Model Y financing rates if you need the car soon, or wait a few weeks to see if rising inventory triggers better terms. Use my Tesla referral — 3 months free FSD + low APR financing when you order to add three months of Full Self-Driving at no cost.
