Tesla Model Y Performance: Delivery Delays, Financing Update & Mod Plans
Hey everyone, DennisCW here with a quick but exciting update on my Tesla Model Y Performance! If you've been following along on my channel, you know I've been eagerly awaiting this beast. Deliveries were supposed to kick off sooner, but things have shifted. Let's break it down.
Delivery Timeline Shift
Originally, Tesla mentioned deliveries starting in December, and we're right at the end of November now. From what I'm seeing on forums and hearing from folks, there might be a software hiccup causing some delays—plus another rumor I won't fully confirm yet. My updated delivery window? December 1st through December 6th. That means there's a solid chance I'll be picking up my new ride next week! Fingers crossed—stay tuned for the pickup vlog.
Financing Lowdown
Financing hasn't been ideal, but we're making moves. Currently, I'm locked in at 72 months with a 5.04% interest rate. I've spotted screenshots from others showing rates as low as 1.99% or 2.99%, with plenty at 3.99% and 4.84%. The catch? No one's actually taken delivery at those rock-bottom rates yet.
I noticed something interesting: some people snagged 3.99% at 60 months. So, I asked Tesla to rerun my numbers at 60 months—hoping for that lower rate. We'll see what they come back with!
Post-Delivery Mods: Let's Make It Shine
Once it's in my garage, the fun begins:
- Tints for that sleek look.
- Ceramic coating to keep it pristine.
Still deciding on protection:
- PPF (Paint Protection Film)?
- Clear wrap?
- Or a matte/stealth wrap?
Matte looks killer when clean, but from past experience, it dirties up fast and needs constant washing. A gloss finish, especially with paint correction, shines like a mirror. Speaking of which, shoutout to 24K Shine for top-tier ceramic coating and paint correction. Mention the Dennis deal for a hookup—check the description on my video!
Daily Driver Dreams
I'm planning to daily this Model Y as much as possible. Those front seats with killer bolstering? Next-level comfort on long drives. My truck's awesome (and has free Supercharging), but it guzzles battery. The Model Y means paid charging, so it'll be a toss-up. Either way, I'm pumped to put miles on it!
