Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're as excited about Tesla's autonomous future as I am, you're going to love this update. I just spotted Model Y robotaxis making their appearance in a brand new market: Los Angeles!
I was at a local Tesla service center here in LA (we live in the area, after all), and what did I see? A fleet of Model Ys decked out as robotaxis. The giveaway? They have the TCP number – that's the required permit for picking up passengers in California. Some of these vehicles had it covered up, which makes sense if they're still in testing mode.

This is huge! It looks like Tesla could be gearing up for an imminent robotaxi launch in LA. After their success in other markets, expanding to the City of Angels feels like the next logical step.
I couldn't resist testing the waters myself. While in Austin, Texas, I tried summoning one via the app. It took about 30 minutes to arrive (we ended up canceling and grabbing an Uber instead), but the pricing? Incredible – just $5 for the trip, compared to $20+ for Uber.
Even with the wait time, this is a game-changer. Imagine hailing a Tesla robotaxi for pennies on the dollar – no driver, no surge pricing, just pure efficiency. Can't wait for it to hit LA streets soon!
While we're talking Tesla goodies, let me shout out Jowua premium accessories. My absolute must-have? Their phone mount. I use it 100% of the time with Full Self-Driving (FSD) in all our Teslas. It's rock-solid, perfectly positioned, and makes monitoring the ride a breeze.
