Remember, Tesla has talked about Robotaxi-specific features in the past. What if unsupervised mode is tied to a "Robotaxi Package"? This could allow your car to earn money by joining the fleet, but it'd come with an extra fee. It's like upgrading from supervised driving to a full unsupervised, revenue-generating setup.
Current Robotaxis (like those from competitors) often have safety drivers, making them "supervised." But Tesla's version could be truly unsupervised, looped into this premium package. I hope that's not the case—loyal owners deserve the full experience without more costs—but it could be a smart way for Tesla to segment the market and boost profits.
