Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Big news in the EV world: Kia has slashed the price of the 2026 Kia EV6 by $5,000, bringing the starting price down to an eye-catching $38,000. That's exactly the same starting price as the Tesla Model 3!
Kia's move comes after EV6 sales collapsed 46% in Q1 2026, with just over 2,000 units sold. Ouch. This reminds me of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which saw a $7,500 discount tied to the federal tax credit. Is this Kia cut on top of any incentives? It's unclear, but it's a clear signal that Kia is fighting back in a crowded EV market dominated by Tesla.
At $38k, the EV6 is now neck-and-neck with the Model 3 (and possibly the Model Y soon). Personally, I'd lease rather than buy – we've seen insane deals like $200/month payments. That's game-changing for budget-conscious EV shoppers.
Tesla owners, I love my rides, but if competitors are offering killer leases at $100–$200/month, it could sway some decisions. The EV6 has style, range, and fast charging, but does it stack up in real-world driving?
Have you test-driven the EV6? Drop your thoughts in the comments – is it a legit Tesla contender, or does it fall short? Let's discuss!
