Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla fan like me, you've got to check out this game-changing news from PG&E. They've finally approved Tesla's PowerShare program for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) integration across their service area. This is a massive milestone for bidirectional EV charging in California, and it's rolling out in collaboration with Tesla—announced right at the Cybertruck event.
If you own a Cybertruck, a PowerShare Gateway, and a Universal Wall Connector, you can now participate in PG&E's Residential Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) program. Here's the exciting part:
This isn't just theory—it's live now, and PG&E is leading the charge (pun intended). No other utility has announced something like this yet, but fingers crossed it spreads across California and beyond.
"Electric vehicles can do more than move people. They can now power homes and support the grid. By welcoming Tesla into our residential vehicle-to-everything program, we're expanding customer choice while making California's grid more flexible, resilient, and affordable. PowerShare grid support enables Tesla's vehicles to strengthen our electricity system while earning money for EV owners."
